Help Restaurant Workers in King County
#ThePlateFund provides emergency financial assistance to restaurant and food-service workers who have lost jobs and income due to business disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The fund, created by the Schultz Family Foundation in partnership with #allinseattle, Seattle Foundation and UpTogether, will provide immediate, one-time payments of $500 to restaurant workers hardest hit by the crisis, prioritizing the most vulnerable and in-need individuals in the restaurant community so they may quickly pay for essentials such as food, medicine, transportation, baby products and other expenses. Individuals may apply via a mobile-enabled website, without having to leave their homes.

The Community Foundation of Snohomish County
The Community Foundation of Snohomish County, along with Snohomish County, Snohomish Health District and United Way of Snohomish County have already begun distributing flexible funds to trusted multi-service agencies working with communities who are disproportionately impacted by coronavirus and the economic consequences of the outbreak. The first round of funding was on immediate, safety-net services (utilities, rent, food, medicine, etc.) to families, seniors and individuals. They are thoughtful about geographic dispersion, ensuring to reach organizations in rural areas across the county. They are also focusing funding on communities of color across the County. Donations to this effort will be distributed quickly and will address funding gaps for families, seniors and disabled individuals in Granite Falls, Lake Stevens, Snohomish, Everett, Mukilteo, and Marysville. COVID-19 Response Fund at the Seattle Foundation
The COVID-19 Response Fund, hosted by the Seattle Foundation, rapidly deploys resources to community-based organizations supporting local workers and families most affected by the crisis. The Fund has galvanized nearly $14 million in support from across philanthropy, government, and business. Before the end of March, general operating grants will go to organizations with deep roots in community.
The organizations supported through this Fund are working on the frontlines with the most economically vulnerable in our communities: workers without health insurance and/or access to sick days, residents with limited English language proficiency, gig economy and healthcare workers, communities of color, people experiencing homelessness, and others. The COVID-19 Response Fund is designed to complement the work of public health officials and expand local capacity to address all aspects of the outbreak as efficiently as possible. There is no administrative fee for participating in the Fund. Please visit www.seattlefoundation.org/covid19 for more information and to donate directly to the COVID-19 Response Fund.
