The Pierce County Connected Fund

As COVID-19 and the necessary public health measures to address it disrupt the normal operations of nonprofits and community service providers in Pierce County, each of us has the ability to strengthen our community by giving to the organizations and causes that matter to us.

The impact of COVID-19 reveals where social systems are not supporting or addressing needs in a sustainable, inclusive, and equitable way. These challenges show how fragile the social safety net is and the limitations of current service providers to continue meeting needs during times of crisis.

To support urgent human service needs, United Way of Pierce County and Greater Tacoma Community Foundation partnered to launch this aligned philanthropic response. The PIERCE COUNTY CONNECTED Fund was seeded with $750,000 from GTCF.

This is a rapidly developing situation. GTCF is working closely with networks across the county to align responses. Further details about funding will be posted as they are available. https://ssl.charityweb.net/uwpc/COVID19.htm

Capitol Hill Housing COVID-19 Resilience Fund

For over 40 years, Capitol Hill Housing has been helping those in need. Across the city, we provide affordable homes and services to more than 2,000 low-income individuals and families and are a home to many small businesses and restaurants. COVID-19 has created an unprecedented crisis for Capitol Hill Housing and the communities we serve. We are launching a COVID-19 Resilience Fund to help those most impacted. 100% of the funds received  will be used to support the residents, small businesses, and vital work of Capitol Hill Housing impacted by the coronavirus. We don’t yet know the scale of the need, but know it will be over a million dollars. Building on our decades of supporting the most vulnerable, CHH will rapidly support residents and connect small businesses to resources to help them. www.capitolhillhousing.org or contact Michael Seiwerath, VP of Advancement and External Relations at 206-204-3840 or mseiwerath@capitolhillhousing.org.
